It's been about two months since I posted here, and I thought it was time I posted something. A lot has happened recently. We now have a Gray Tree Frog named Edgar. We also have a Bearded Dragon named Falkor.
Dea only has about two months left to her current school term, and she only has one term left after this (unless she fails & has to repeat courses). She started out doing really well, then slacked a bit for a while, and is now putting forth effort again. With her putting in effort again, she should pass all of her courses with decent grades.
Jay is doing fantastic. He is flying through his schoolwork, as usual. He is loving his Science. He is still alternating between Chemistry & Forensics for Science. In History, he is currently studying Prohibition Era, including prohibition era gangsters, and he is loving it. Before Christmas break, he finished chapter 8 of LOF Advanced Algebra, leaving only 2 chapters left for him to finish once we're back to school in a week. After finishing Advanced Algebra, he will take a week or two off in Math and then will start LOF Geometry.
I'm currently working on planning the next term for each of them. Jay wants to start doing 6-month terms like Dea. So, since he is starting jr high school, we figured it was a good time to start the new term system. The plan is that he'll do 4 terms of jr high and 6 terms of high school. Since Dea only has one term left, I only need to plan one term for her. However, I have to plan the next two terms for Jay. I'm trying to get as much of the planning as possible done during our Christmas break.
I recently came up with a list of books I hope to read next year. It currently has about 30 books on it. I didn't want to try to list everything I would read next year, because I'm sure there will be ones I think of later. So, I left room for those and for the books I read for my book clubs and for school. I'm in 3 different book clubs. One of them reads two books every month. One reads one every month. The third reads one some months and two some months. I don't always read all the books for my book clubs. Sometimes, I can't get a copy of the book for one club, one doesn't sound interesting to me, I already read the book one is reading & don't want to read it again, I start reading one, but find it too boring to finish, or I just don't have the time to read everything. So, I read anywhere from 1 to 5 books each month for my book clubs.
The holiday season has been okay. It's been busy, hectic, and stressful. We had our third Christmas yesterday. Jay is sick today. One of my husband's presents fell on my foot the other day & possibly broke my toe. We've seen lots of family, dealt with some arguments & petty disputes, and got some awesome presents. Honestly, I will be glad for this holiday season to be over.
So, that's what we're up to. I hope you all have/had a great holiday. See you in the new year.
